Shanghai a Modern City
I left Beijing via night withCheap Shanghai Flights to Shanghai. For foreigners this is a cheap and comfortable way totravel in China. Arriving in the Shanghai we were greeted with the sight of a massive and modern city. After having made our way to our Shanghai hotel we ventured out onto Nanjing Road which is a modern road full of fancy shops and shopping malls. Walking around the city you are amazed by the size of the city and by the impressive and interesting skyscrappers rising far into the sky. The most distinctive building is the Shanghai TV Tower which is unique in many ways. Heading out at night we headed to the Captains Hostel which has a bar overlooking the bund or waterfront and the Shanghai skyline at night. The next day I headed to the wonderful Shanghai museum which contains ancient statues, coins, stamps, and scrool paintings from China. Heading over to the old quater we looked around shopping and eating different street food. I ended to night with an acrobatic show which contained many traditional forms of acrobatics and new ones and was a fun way to wrap up the last night in Shanghai. The next day we leave by train to start myXi'an Travel, part of our China Tours.

First day in Beijing
We have just arrived at our Beijing hotel located in Chaoyang district. It is a very long day. We woke up early and left Brossard at 5:00 AM. We arrived in Chicago at 8:30 AM local time and took off to Beijing at 13:00. Flying time is about 12:30 going via great circle i.e. GreenBay, Thunder Bay, Hudson Bay, around North Pole, Siberia, Mongolian Plateau, Inner Mongolia and finally Beijing. OurBeijing Flightarrived 45 minutes in advance but the time to clear health check, immigration is about 90 minutes. In fact, when the plane arrived, everybody must stay inside the cabin waiting for 2 Chinese health officers to measure the temperature of each person since they are afraid of H1N1 virus. When we get out there is a girl and a guy waiting for us since I did ask hotel for airport pick-up. We are 6 persons solid pack in a small Toyota car. Anyway, we made it to the serviced apartment hotel which is quite nice. Tuyen was surprise how Beijing is developed, top attracting destination inChina Vacations. Anyway, it is her first time to travel in China after 34 years in North America. I tell her that she will expose to the same kind of environments in other countries that we will visit like Thailand, Vietnam. They took a nap now since they are too tired. Tomorrow, we will explore more Beijing during our China Tour.
